Newspaper article comment : All 247 passengers survive plane crash – All 247 passengers emerged alive from this plane wreckage, which crashed near the Malaysian capital last night just before landing. The aircraft, an Airbus-300, ran into difficulties during bad weather and fell into a swamp one kilometres before the runway. There it broke into two-parts and burst into flames. According to the airport authorities, it took the crew only a few minutes to get all the occupants out of the cabin; 27 of them are injured. The cause of the air disaster was not yet known last night.

Flight MH684 from Singapore (SIN) to Kuala Lumpur (KUL) with 14 crew and 233 passengers. First flight : 07 October 1980. Approaching RW15 KUL apt. on ILS in heavy rain it descended to low and impacted ground and ended in a swamp 1200 [m] short of the runway. Everybody could get out of the plane alive, only 27 people were injured.
